Be a true worshipper

John 4:23-24

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Jesus established in earlier scriptures that the problem with Samaritan worship was knowledge; they had no knowledge of who they worshipped. Consequently, He exposed the essence of "true worship".

Jesus revealed that true worship is a function of knowledge; knowledge of the One we worship, knowledge of His person: that He is our Father. In essence, true worshippers know who they worship: they know that He is their Father. This knowledge also speaks of relationship. True worshippers have a relationship with God; they recognize His Fatherhood and they relate with Him on that basis and worship Him from that knowledge.

Jesus also added that true worshippers worship God "in spirit and in truth". God is a Spirit; that's His nature. True worshippers not only worship God in the knowledge of His nature, but also in His nature as a Spirit. They worship in spirit. It is important to note that worship is not just an act but a lifestyle, so true worshippers live and model their lives after God's nature - love, joy, peace, etc (Gal 5:22, Eph 5:9). True worshippers also worship in truth. Jesus is the truth; true worshippers worship in Jesus. Hence, salvation is a prerequisite for true worship. Anyone who is not in Jesus is not a true worshipper.

Furthermore, when it comes to worship, God will not accept anything less than He deserves or requires. "And they that worship Him MUST worship in spirit and in truth". That's the only worship He accepts.

Conclusively, God is seeking true worshippers. You only seek for something that is not readily available, something rare. True worshippers are rare, and because God loves worship, He seeks them out and He treasures the ones He finds. It is amazing that when the bible teaches we ought to seek God, we are told here that God is also seeking a particular set of people. Won't you rather be in that select few? Beloved, be a true worshipper. And God will literally seek you out and treasure you. Knowing and worshipping Him as your Father will make you enjoy ALL the blessings of  His Fatherhood for He is the Best Father.
