What If We Had 5 More Years? (1)

II Corinthians 13:5 (NKJV) - "Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves..."

There are 4 significant events in biblical history; namely the creation of man, the call of Abraham, the birth of Jesus, and the return of Jesus. Based on biblical timelines and available records; it is believed that from Adam to Abraham is 2000 years; and Abraham to Jesus is 2000 years. Now, according to a majority of Bible scholars, from the birth of Jesus to date (2025) is about 1995 years. Some believe 1993 years.

Now, we know that the next major event the world is awaiting is the rapture or second coming of Jesus. So, if we follow the precedence, then it's safe to predict that from the birth of Jesus till the second coming will be another 2000 years. So, my question for you today is, what if we had 5 more years? What IF there are only 5 years until Jesus returns? Would it impact the way you serve God? As it pertains to matters relating to your destiny and assignment, would a 5-year notice change anything for you?

Now, this is pure speculation (of course within reasonable level of accuracy based on precedence) and could be wide off the mark. But what if it did happen in 5 years' time? What if? It would mean you had 5 years' notice. The question is, what are you going to do with that?

Recently, some fathers of faith reminded us that, in the time of the Appstles, their narrative was "the time is short" (1 Cor 7:29; Rev 12:12). Now, almost 2000 years after, it's no longer "the time is short." The narrative has changed to "there is no time." So, again, "What if we had 5 more years?"

In truth, whether it does happen in 5 years or 10 or 20, makes no difference. One thing is for sure, Jesus is coming back again. The Bible tells us He will come like a thief in the night unexpected (Matt. 24:44, Rev. 16:15 ). It could be in 10 mins time or 1 hour or this week, no one knows. Are you ready? There are evidences that the Antichrist and the false Prophet are already walking among us and forming a burgeoning partnership, albeit surreptitiously. Also, the rapid technological advancements of recent years have brought the events spoken of in the Bible about the end times within the realms of present day realities. So, indeed, we have no time!

My desire is to spur you to deep reflection and self-examination, which ideally we should be doing daily (2 Cor 13:5). Make no mistake. This is the 11th hour and there is no time anymore. Hear the voice of the Lord! This is the 11th hour, and there is no time!

See what happens when your enemies gather

Psa 23:5 (NKJV) You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Have you ever wondered how the gathering of your enemies pan out? In your quest to out-think or outsmart them as it were in prayers, you may have tried to imagine what happens in their gatherings; what they do or would be doing when they come together to plot against you. Well, if you have, wonder no more because our reference scripture clearly presents what eventually happens. The Psalmist reveals that God prepares a "table" for us in the presence of our enemies. That means, their gatherings eventually end up as your table-preparation gathering. A "table" is symbolic of a meal or a feast . Rejoice, it's your season of abundance for overflow

Joel 2:23-24 (NKJV) Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God;  For He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you — The former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. Give your bread and fish to Jesus!

God is still in the business of multiplying loaves of bread and fishes. But like that little boy did, you have to give it to Him and watch Him multiply i t.  God wants to feed the world with your loaves of bread and fishes. Look around you and you will find that many are hungry and are in need of bread and fishes, and I don't mean this literally only. The world right now is full of gloom and doom, but the solution is with you, in your hands . Give it to Jesus, let Him reach out to people. He will sustain you with it and the world as well. On this side of eternity, we sing " Jesus, You're all that matters " and rightly so, He's indeed all that matters and I don't want to get into that right now. We should sing it, again and again and again "He's all that matters".  However, on the other side of eternity, Jesus is singing "you're all that matters to me". The world is failing but God will never fail

Mark 13:31   Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away . Friends, recent happenings in the world emphasizes the need to hold on to God and His Word more than ever before. JESUS came to reveal God's likeness

Colossians 1:15 (NKJV) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation . God created man in His image and likeness. However, when man sinned, he still had the "image" of God, but lost the "likeness". In other words, he still looked like God but he lost the capacity to display his likeness or similitude to God . Consequently, what became the norm were behaviors that were completely atypical of God. Man took turns to misrepresent God from their distorted perspective of the likeness of God or their inability to replicate how God was really like. Annals of the Cross (8)

In previous posts, we were told that the Cross was an eternal and irrevocable statement of  love  and  judgment  by God to man and the devil respectively. We have also been told that the  Cross  has a plethora of associated dividends which are legitimately ours to enjoy now and forever. In addition, we were also told that because of the sacrifice of Christ on the   Cross , God doesn't really have a choice anymore, as it were, He has to bless us. The moment He accepted 'payment' (Jesus' death), He committed Himself to deliver 'the goods'.
