See God in the midst of your circumstance!

Gen 39:2 (NKJV)
The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

Your situation is not the determinant of the presence or absence of God. Your circumstance is not a proof that God is with you or that He has forsaken you. It is not also a marker of your success or failure in life, Joseph's life proves that. That you are having a great time is no indication of the presence of God neither does unpleasant circumstances indicate that God is absent. Also, that you are having a terrible time does not mean you are a failure neither does having a great time indicate you are a success. Irrespective of your situation, God is always with you because He promised never to leave (Matt 28:20, Heb 13:5). Whatever your present circumstance, pleasant or unpleasant, if you are saved, then God is with you and you are a success as a matter of consequence. This is what Joseph's story clearly teaches.

Joseph had some very unpleasant experiences growing up. Yet the bible records that the Lord was with Him (Gen 39:2). When this was said, he was a slave in the house of Potiphar. So, he being a slave was not because God abandoned him. God was with him every step of the way through all his unpleasant experiences from his brothers' betrayal to his time in the prison. As we understand from scriptures, all he went true were vehicles employed to transport him to his place of destiny. Thank God he endured it. Hindsight taught him that God orchestrated everything to prepare him for the throne (Gen 50:20).

What about the 3 hebrews boys Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego? They were thrown into fire, yet the Lord was there with them. That they were thrown into fire did not indicate that God forsook them. How could He, considering they were being punished for displaying extraordinary loyalty to Him. Moreover, it is noteworthy that an heathen king could see God with them in the midst of the fire. Friends, if an heathen king could see God with them, why not you! See God in the midst of your situation! And like Peter did, walk to Him in the storm, He is your way out.

What more can we say about Job? One would have been forgiven to assume that the Lord forsook Him, and that's why he went through such a terrible ordeal. But, of course, the Bible proofs otherwise.

Friends, don't let unpleasant situations make you doubt God's presence in your life. Yes, you will have some difficult experiences from time to time, but God is always with us. In short, it is in those difficult moments that He manifests His presence more. Isa 43:2 says "when you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you."  Scripture also tells us God is our very present help in times of trouble (Psa 46:1). He is the friend that sticks closer than a brother (Prov 18:24). He is always with us, helping, protecting and providing for us.

Now if the Lord is with you, and He is, then you are a success. You are prosperous. You are blessed; and as a result, you will excel in everything you put your hands to do as it was for Joseph. God bless you.
