See what happens when you experience oppression

Exo 1:12 (NKJV)
But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were in dread of the children of Israel.

The bible records that the children of Israel so greatly multiplied and became exceedingly numerous in Egypt (Exo 1:7) that the Egyptians became greatly concerned. And when a new King came on board, who didn't care about them or their antecedent in Egypt, he expressed his trepidation to his people and initiated plans to curtail the growth of the Israelites. His people took his plans to flight and greatly oppressed the Israelites all in a bid to suppress their fruitfulness. But, unfortunately for them, and to their enhanced infuriation, the Israelites thrived in the midst of the oppression. The bible says "but the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites".

Friends, this is a wonderful word of encouragement because we all experience some form of oppression from time to time. For some, it is more frequent and so much more severe. For others, it may be mild and infrequent but still distasteful nonetheless. Whatever the case, no one wants to experience oppression. However, the beautiful thing is, as a child of God, in the midst of oppression, you will thrive. In the midst of affliction, you will multiply. When people try to suppress your growth, you will greatly increase. When they try to put hindrances on your path, you will surmount it. When the enemy tries to contain you, you will overflow; and then they will be exasperated and come to dread you. The reason is because God is with you always, and as a consequence of His presence, you will excel even in the midst of persecution. The bible says God disappoints the device of the crafty so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise (Job 5:12). So, whatsoever tools, instruments, strategies or policies they employ to hold you back, pull you down or curtail your multiplication, they will be greatly frustrated. God will employ those same devices to cause you to increase even greater in Jesus name, amen.

Finally, I don't know what situation you may be in right now, or what form of oppression you may be dealing with, but I know this truth, your situation is  not a reflection of the presence or absence of God. I also know this, God compels all things to work out for our good (Rom 8:28). It doesn't matter how deplorable your situation may be, God is able and will turn it around for your good. He will beautify your life and bring glory to His name in the midst of your circumstance. He will give you beauty for your ashes. Glory to God.
